HIGHLIGHTS

Martial Arts

Students will learn the fundamentals of marital arts in a series of workshops.

Latin Percussion

Sponsored by Young Audiences, this hands-on percussion workshop explores the origins of Latin music, Latin percussion instruments, rhythms, musical dynamics, and basic playing techniques. Instruments include congas, claves, bells, guiro, cajon (box drum), Brazilian percussion battery, and some of their easily “found object” counterparts.

HEALTHY U

CATCH is an evidence-based, coordinated school health program designed to promote physical activity, healthy food choices and the prevention of tobacco use in children.

Cake Chemistry

Have you ever wondered why cakes and breads rise or what makes them taste so yummy?  In Cake Chemistry, students will work with groups to create and test their own cake recipes.  They will also learn about chemical reactions and how these reactions are important in baking.

Voices from the Land

Through the Voices process, students will design and publish photography showcasing their art and poetry.  The culminating photographic artwork creation will be presented at an event at an art gallery in March.

Student Ambassadors

Student ambassadors will be considered leaders in 21st Century.  They will make contact with their peers and find out how they like their clubs, what new clubs they want, etc.  Students will also greet guests/visitors, help run our fundraisers, and much more.
